C.H. Robinson Software Engineer II in Saint Paul, Minnesota

C. H Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer II where you'll be challenged to build modern, responsive, and highly scalable systems that are accelerating commerce through the world's most powerful supply chain platform; Navisphere. In addition, the role is responsible for impacting and continuously improving our engineering culture, process. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive and user-friendly web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Collaborate with designers, ensuring the UI is responsive and user centric.

  • Ensure the application works seamlessly across a wide range of browsers and devices.

  • Utilize frameworks like Bootstrap, Tailwind, or Material UI and preprocessors like LESS/SASS for efficient and maintainable styling.

  • Optimize front-end performance for fast loading times and a smooth user experience.

  • Work with the backend team to integrate RESTful APIs and Web services, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend development.

  • Use tools like Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and other debugging tools to ensure a bug-free and high-performance output of code.

  • Increase code quality through code reviews and writing unit, integration and acceptance tests

  • Optimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability while ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment

  • Tune performance and resolve availability issues of product or service and its dependencies in production

  • Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for features

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing commercial software

  • 3+ years of experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (ex. C#, .NET, Java)

  • Expertise in writing clean, maintainable, and responsive CSS, including understanding of CSS3 features like Flexbox and Grid.

  • Experience with popular CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, or Material UI to speed up development.

  • Strong understanding of HTML5, including semantic tags, form handling, and accessibility best practices.

  • Deep understanding of responsive web design principles, including mobile-first design, breakpoints, and fluid layouts.

  • Experience in integrating third-party APIs, including RESTful services, into web applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of React.js for building dynamic user interfaces, including component-based architecture, state management, and hooks.

  • Familiarity with Next.js for building fast, server-side rendered React applications, including concepts like static site generation (SSG), server-side rendering (SSR), and API routes.

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or React Testing Library for unit testing and component testing.

  • Knowledge of Sitecore CMS and its integration with frontend technologies for creating scalable and dynamic content-driven applications.

  • Experience with Adobe Target for conducting A/B testing, personalization, and optimization to improve user experience and conversion rates.

  • Sitecore experience

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify solutions, and optimize frontend performance.

Compensation Range

$75,900.00 - $168,500.00
