Actalent Qc Lab Analyst in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Job Title: QC Lab AnalystJob Description

This role is ideal for someone interested in microbiology, focusing less on chemistry or analytical methods. The position is split between lab duties and autoclave sterilization requalification. Most tasks include pH measurement, conductivity, solution-related work, autoclaving, and cleaning glassware. The QA Analyst will conduct biological, chemical, and physical testing on pharmaceutical products and medical devices in a GMP lab through all manufacturing stages, including some environmental monitoring programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct critical biological, chemical, and physical analyses on raw materials, in-process, and final products.

  • Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data.

  • Perform assays requiring precise analytical skills and understanding of biology and chemistry principles.

  • Complete all testing, including special project/protocol testing, in a timely manner.

  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs, FDA, GLP, QSR, and cGMP regulations.

  • Write exception documents.

  • Participate in team efforts to impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, and improve quality.

  • Perform laboratory and manufacturing audits as required.

  • Audit and update plant SOPs as needed.

  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations as required.

  • Set up test apparatus and conduct tests on production processes and products.

  • Document all testing and maintain complete quality records.

  • Adjust and calibrate production equipment as needed.

  • Assist in the assessment and implementation of corrective actions and preventive measures to solve production quality issues.

  • Modify production equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined specifications.

  • Correct quality issues within the production process by adjusting or replacing manufacturing equipment parts or components.

  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes and other control procedures.

Essential Skills

  • BS/BA in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques or biological testing.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to keep detailed notes and logs.

  • Knowledge of endotoxin testing, aseptic techniques, bio-burden testing, and sterility testing.

  • Familiarity with basic laboratory and pharmaceutical production equipment.

  • Proven ability to navigate computer systems, including Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cGMP is a plus.

Work Environment

The position involves long periods of sitting or standing and repetitive motions. There will be exposure to biologics and chemicals in a controlled environment. Start times fluctuate depending on the rotation, with the earliest starting at 6 am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
