Job Description

Provides subject matter expertise around data governance principles and disciplines for the business line and in support of the enterprise data governance program. Ensures data delivery is meeting established goals of the program and Enterprise Data Governance policy requirements. Provides support around critical information and how it is used for business processing within the organization. Ensures that strong controls are in place to deliver data that is fit for purpose within the business line or for assigned system of record, provisioning point or business process(s). Facilitates development of business data flows, documentation of control and completion of control assessment for all high-risk reports. Mid to Senior level position supports the development of capabilities that will improve and sustain the governance, management, protection and value of U.S. Bank's data assets.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to write in-line and post-effect scalable data quality tests in both high-code and low-code environments. The candidate will build relationships with stakeholders and act as a consultant on solutions where applicable. This role requires a deep understanding of the data quality subject matter and the ability to ensure data integrity and accuracy across various platforms. The analyst will be involved in developing, documenting and implementing data quality standards, conduction data quality assessments, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance overall data quality. This role will require the ability to delve into Operations Business Lines and supporting processes and data with ambiguously documented data environments to help identify criteria for quality testing.

  • Supports ongoing policy development to enable compliance with regulator expectation as well as enable improved management decision making and achievement of company strategies.

  • Defines approaches and guidance materials around core capabilities needed to grow our data governance capabilities.

  • Performs analysis and collaborates with business lines to help deliver clear guidance on policy requirements to allow for adoption by business lines.

  • Collaborates with IT to help provide requirements of data architecture and tooling.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the following locations:

  • Irving, TX

  • Saint Paul, MN

  • Tempe, AZ

  • Gresham, OR

  • Cincinnati, OH

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Two to three years of experience in data governance activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Proficiency in SQL across various flavors (E.g.: MS SQL, DB2, Oracle )

  • Data Visualizatio n exposure (Power BI, Tableau, Etc…)

  • Ability to data mine, analyze data, and present insights in a meaningful way

  • Basic project management/business analysis knowledge and familiarity with the business line processes and/or applications

  • Thorough understanding of Data Governance principles

  • Thorough knowledge of data architecture concepts and data governance tooling

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00 - $120,120.00
