Robert Half Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in the non-profit sector located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role involves managing the day-to-day functions of the accounts payable department and leading the team through changes such as software upgrades and transitions to automated systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts payable department to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices and expenses.

• Supervise and provide guidance to the accounts payable team.

• Manage vendor relationships and address any issues or concerns.

• Implement and manage software upgrades within the department.

• Lead the transition to an automated payables system.

• Ensure all accounting procedures align with GAAP standards.

• Use MS Dynamics 365 Business Central and Great Plains for efficient processing of payables.

• Automate processes where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Act as a knowledge bank for the team, particularly regarding Great Plains payables.

• Regularly review and update accounts payable processes and policies. Requirements • Proficient in Account Coding, Data Processing, and Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Great Plains (GPAC)

• Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central

• Demonstrated leadership skills in a management role

• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships

• Experience in automating processes to improve efficiency

• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles

• Experience with implementing software upgrades in an accounting context

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently

• Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team effectively

• Experience implementing and monitoring internal controls and identifying cost savings

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
