Research Associate
Job Description
At our St. Louis location, we are focused on harnessing state-of-the-art technologies in molecular and cell biology to engineer novel improved crop varieties. We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Research Associate with broad technical experience and demonstrated success executing scientific experiments using molecular techniques. This position will work closely with scientists in the New Traits team to support early trait discovery and optimization of genome editing methods in sugarcane.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and execution of experiments to deliver gene editing reagents to plant cells.
Independently perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, digital PCR, DNA extraction, and sample preparation for sequencing.
Troubleshoot and optimize routine protocols such as PCR and digital PCR assays.
Perform regular and timely maintenance of plant cell cultures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date experimental records.
Plan and communicate within the team to ensure delivery of experimental timelines.
Follow and achieve high adherence to Quality Management and Stewardship SOPs.
Conduct routine lab maintenance activities as needed.
Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
