Barnes-Jewish Hospitl is looking for a Healthcare Informatics Specialist. This role focuses on extracting information from various data sources such as EPIC, data warehouse, and SQL server. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in SQL and have knowledge of computer programming languages, particularly C#. Familiarity with Alteryx and Power BI is advantageous.
An essential requirement is obtaining EPIC Tier 5 certification, with on-the-job training provided as a bonus. The role necessitates a blend of healthcare and technical competencies, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful outcomes.

This team provides Clinical Engineering, Imaging Informatics, Clinical Equipment Asset Management and Planning and Clinical Equipment Capital Project Management services throughout the BJC HealthCare system by: serving patients through operational support and maintenance management of diagnostic, treatment, and patient support technologies, directly serving users, owners, and managers of medical equipment, servicing medical equipment planned, demand and corrective maintenance, providing operational support for functions employing medical technology, supporting Risk Management and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) functions, supporting technology asset management, acquisition, and disposal, maintenance contract management and capital project planning and management, and providing clinical equipment planning expertise for BJC Healthcare projects, working directly with BJC PD&C, BJC Entity Representatives, Architects, Engineers, contractors, etc. during the entire project.

Role Purpose
Considered to be the subject matter expert with broad knowledge of all areas of biomedical informatics and applies this expertise to complex project and strategic initiatives. Oversees the design and application of established methods and processes to assist users with the generation, storage, retrieval, use and sharing of biomedical information and knowledge. This role bridges the gap between business users, clinicians, scientists and IT personnel. This includes but is not limited to implementation of vended systems and development of new systems for operations and research.
Responsibilities

Demonstrates expertise in standards and best practices in the implementation and deployment of technical solutions.
Demonstrates expertise in standards and best practices in the evaluation of technical solutions.
Leads or is considered the subject matter expert for a breadth of complex projects and strategic initiatives, including translating national standards and initiatives into strategic direction for the department. Projects will include study design, healthcare vocabularies, decision support research, healthcare data exchange standard, clinical workflow as it relates to technology.
