Aerotek Steel Fabricator in Saginaw, Michigan

  • Position requires ability to take prints and assigned projects, grab materials and assemble, fit, and weld to specifications needed.

  • Will be required to do welding and fitting on large steel assemblies for the building trades such as I beams, and trusses.

  • Will be working on hand rails and stairs.

  • Will be performing MIG welding and Flux Core on structural steel.

  • Use of overhead cranes to set up their work

  • This position will be doing a large amount of cutting, trimming, grinding, and fitting the assemblies.

  • Fitters will get the structural steel blue prints from the detailer and layout their steel on a table where they will use Flux Core to tack everything together then a welder will finish it off with MIG.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1 year Structural Blue Print reading/ Must be able to read and understand the Weld Symbols

  • 1 year Fitting experience (laying out the steel according the blue prints)

  • 1 year Structural Steel welding experience using MIG and Flux Core

A person with Structural Steel fabrication experience is proficient in reading drawings and blueprints.
