About the role

CBRE is looking for a dedicated Sr. Commissioning Agent for northern California.

Regional travel within Northern California for project testing. When not testing in field this is a work-from-home position if desired, or located in an office if preferred.

Sr. Commissioning Agent provides commissioning project leadership and implementation in a client facing position. Directs and administers the commissioning process from concept design through functional testing of systems to post occupancy.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and coordinate the entire commissioning team including all stakeholders.

  • Verify that systems are designed, installed, and operate within the basis of design and specified criteria.

  • Review MEP systems design documents and sequences of operation for conformance.

  • Track and resolves issues. Including control systems software and sequence of operation to meet required sequences of operation.

  • Write details system checklists and operations functional performance tests to check each and every system point, mode, input, output, etc.

  • Conduct site walks and inspections and creates a site observation visit report.

  • Direct onsite system testing and monitoring of complex and integrated systems and documents results.

  • Create reports and project deliverables with proper grammar and formatting to create professional deliverables.

  • Self-performs all tasks and when support is available delegates tasks and mentors supporting team members.

  • Lead execution of projects within the given budgets.

  • Handle job accounting setup, project job costs, sub consultants and their contracts.

  • Participate in business development including contacting new customers, new proposals, and following up with prospective clients.

What you’ll need

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant building science, or equivalent, plus five years of validated experience. Alternatively, 10-years of industry-related, relevant experience. Knowledge of MEP systems installation and operation required.

Certificates and Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. LEED AP and commissioning certification (such as CxA, CCP, or BCxP) preferred.

Additional Skills

Provides formal supervision of commissioning agents, delegates tasks, handles task completion, and QA/QC’s their work. Manage their tasks within project budgets. Mentor and coaches team members to further develop proficiencies. Lead by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

CBRE Carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this Sr. Commissioning Analyst position is $150,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $175,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental Insurance, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and Vision Insurance.
