Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant for a long term contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations, including month-end close processes, budgeting, and financial reporting. This position requires the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to provide actionable financial insights.
Responsibilities:
Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of budgets and forecasts. Work closely with relevant departments to gather input and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Financial Reporting: Develop and deliver timely and accurate financial reports to leadership for decision-making purposes. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting principles and company policies.
Leadership Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership to provide critical financial insights and recommendations to drive sound strategic business decisions.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and reporting mechanisms to increase efficiency and accuracy
Compliance: Maintain compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and company policies to safeguard the organization’s financial integrity.
Special Projects: Support or lead special accounting and financial projects as needed during the contract period.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. CPA or MBA is highly preferred
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end close. Contract experience is a plus.
Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance regulations.
Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholder
