Adecco Staffing is working with a local manufacturing client in Rutland, VT who is looking to fill a Quality Assurance Manager position. This is a direct hire position.
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership and oversight for all quality related matters within the business. The Manager is responsible for the Quality Management System and manages all the activities of the Quality Department including, but not limited to incoming inspection, tracking of non-conformances, and final product inspection. Responsibilities also include collaborating with management and team members from manufacturing operations, engineering, purchasing and accounting, to ensure quality standards are successfully met across all product lines. The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. The position also requires technical problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask and make quick, informed decisions while working within approved organizational systems. The Manager should possess the ability to exercise the necessary authority to assure policies and procedures are being followed and provide support to direct reports to allow them the opportunity to develop their own skills. Ultimately, the person in this role will play an integral role in helping to ensure the company continues to provide a high-quality products and excellent service to our customers.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage all aspects of company quality, including our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
Hire, train, and mentor all Quality Inspectors and product line Quality Control Inspectors.
Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the Quality Assurance department.
Maintain a nonconforming product log and corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
Implement and maintain key performance indicators (KPI’s) necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, customer satisfaction, and the cost of quality. Use the results of performance evaluation to help Management target improvement efforts.
In collaboration with the Purchasing Department, monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance are being met.
Schedule and lead the team responsible for internal ISO quality audits.
Act as the primary point of contact for our registrar and coordinate all ISO surveillance audits.
Work with Customer Relationship Managers, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing to address quality issues efficiently and effectively.
Oversees the company’s calibration program.
Coordinate with appropriate managers and plant personnel for internal, customer, and third-party quality system audits.
Performs any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Management team.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, or relevant professional experience preferred.
Experience and Certifications
5 – 7 years of quality experience, with a significant portion of time spent in a management or supervisory role at a manufacturing company.
Prior experience developing, implementing, and managing an ISO-9001 quality system.
Experience developing and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and workflows relating to organizational process improvement.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools, including but not limited to CMM’s, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and the like.
Ability to read blueprints and drawings and understand GD&T.
Knowledge of the best practices for the measurement and qualification of mechanical and electrical parts.
Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).
Strong communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct reports, as well as other Managers and Production Associates.
Demonstrated leadership, project management, change management, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with software systems including MS Office, MRP, and other business-related systems.
Self-directed and capable of prioritizing and performing multiple tasks.
High energy and positive attitude with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and help to get things done as required.
Pay is $87k-100k

Pay Details: $87,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
