HUNT GUILLOT & ASSOCIATES LLC Strategic Sourcing Specialist in RUSTON, Louisiana
The I/E Maintenance Engineer is a 12-month contract position working on-site for our Specialty Chemical Client located in The Woodlands, TX.
The primary responsibilities of this role will center around the functional and tactical responsibilities related to the key olefin, NGL and raw materials. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be supporting multiple manufacturing sites, supply chains and business teams. The candidate will ensure sourcing activities are synchronized with the various supply chain and plant contacts to meet the current and longer-term production plans. The key focus of this role will be to manage the purchase orders for the Direct Procurement Team. It will require the individual to have excellent cross functional relationships with your internal business partners, as well as external suppliers.
This role manages design, change management, installation, and repairs for instrumentation, control valves, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, and transformers. The engineer collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and operations to develop design and installation packages and oversees Management of Change (MOC) and turnaround scope development.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Timely and accurate creation of all purchase orders.
Ensure all materials are obtained from approved suppliers and meet existing quality/performance standards.
Develop an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders and communicating to all internal and external stakeholders.
Establish and maintain close lines of communications with suppliers, manufacturing sites, and the various supply chains regarding the expected delivery dates.
Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
Work closely with Accounts Payable Team and the Vendor Master/Invoice Resolution focal points to quickly resolve invoice and credit issues.
Demonstrate expertise with SAP and other tools for planning and analysis.
Work with internal Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality Assurance departments to track and mitigate supplier nonconformance issues., TX.
Job Requirements: Working knowledge and experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong problem solving, time-management, and organizational skills. Attention to detail with knowledge of purchasing procedures. Understanding the need to develop contacts at the sites for all the products to help facilitate goods receipts in SAP. Ability to understand written and oral instructions. Must have a level of proficiency with all the MS Office Suites A four-year college degree in business, accounting, or engineering. Experience/knowledge related to a chemical purchasing and or supply chain a plus.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills: 1. Knowledge of SAP required. 2. Knowledge of purchase orders, invoices, reconciliation. 5-10 years of experience preferred, 3-5 years of experience required. 3. Must be detail-oriented, particularly with excel and numerical processes.
