Scope of work

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a first line manager in the administration of Ortho Surgery Services. Assumes responsibility for patients, personnel and the environment with accountability for assigned unit. Responsible for assisting the orientation and in-service education of the Ortho OR staff; responsible for quality assurance activities, policy and procedure revisions and infection control surveillance within the department. Responsible in assisting with the Ortho OR staff schedule and for performance evaluations on assigned staff.

Qualifications

  • Effective June 1, 2025, Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required.

  • Two years of clinical experience (Ortho OR) Required.

  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.

  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.

  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.
