WESCO Senior Manager - Sales in Rotterdam, Netherlands

We are looking for a Sales Leader in our Enterprise Cabling and Security Solutions (CSS) business who can drive sales results and strategic initiatives, as well as manage key vendor and customer relationships within the territory. Summary of role

  • The Sales Leader will lead a team of Inside & Outside representatives to aggressively prospect and drive new sales within the local area. This position will provide strategic leadership for the group, and will ensure effective coordination of team efforts. The Sales Leader will have responsibility for the location meeting its revenue and expense plan.

Main responsibilities / Key goals

• Financial / Profit Manager

  • Achievement of Financial Objectives (SIP- Act GP)

  • Development of Project Pipeline

  • Business plan incorporating company strategies and objectives medium and long term.

  • Effective use and interpretation of financial reports to manage the business and ensure continuous alignment with the company’s objectives. Manage profit leaks, overheads, expenses etc.

  • Monthly reports and Business decisions

  • Cooperate with Credit Control when credit issue’s arise

• Sales and Commercial Manager

  • Vendors and customers – effectively network to strengthen relationships.

  • Lead & manage with all key customers

  • Get personally involved in all key projects

  • Build credibility with all key players in the market

  • Owner of the vendor relationships

  • Ensure a healthy pipeline on an ongoing basis.

  • Commercial knowledge – aware of industry trends, proactive approach to attaining relevant information.

  • Full awareness of competition and solution orientated approach to minimise impact on Anixter business.

• People Management / Sales Leadership

  • Manage the HR cycle effectively

  • Recruitment/ induction/ training/development/appraisals (Blueprint review)/ compensation/retention plans for good performers/ dealing effectively with performers not meeting company standards.

  • Employment legislation – awareness of relevant local laws and processes.

• Sales Leadership

  • Aligning individual business plans and targets with company objectives

  • Driving day to day behaviour to reflect sales targets (i/s; o/s; tl)

  • Effective communication – sales meetings incorporating ie: numbers/ projects / marketing/ competition/vendor/ customer / strategy updates.

  • Ensure awareness and appropriate business use of all relevant support material as well as internal resources support.

  • Weekly reviews of call reports/ review objectives/ outcomes.

  • Coaching for performance: provide development opportunities to build skill level e.g joint reviews/ role plays/ sales visits on a regular basis.

  • Motivate the Team to maximise performance, and achieve their goals and objectives.

  • Day to Day running of Sales Office and working with Outside Sales

Other responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Inside Team Leader.

  • Staff morale and supervision

Special conditions (e.g. frequent travel, early starts, and late finishes)

This position is not a 9 to 5 function.

Basic hours are 37.5 per week but applicants need to be flexible and prepared to work the hours required to get the job done.

Tools and equipment used

Wesco Anixter tools, programs & systems – knowledge of Microsoft office

Qualifications/education required

  • Educated to Advanced or College level .

Necessary skills, knowledge and experience

  • Bi- lingual as a minimum: Dutch, English

  • Track record in Change Management – Transformation Management

  • Track record of successful development of customer relationships / sales growth in line with company objectives.

  • Commercially astute

  • Focused on results and adding value.

  • Knowledge of the I.T & DC, Security industry would be an advantage

  • Interpersonal skills – proven ability to build effective relationships

  • Strong communication skills at all levels

  • Consistent record of effective sales and appropriate negotiation

  • Enthusiastic, confident, proactive with the ability to inspire, drive and motivate others on a daily basis.

  • Man – management skills – ability to lead, manage, develop, and discipline etc as required.

  • Achievement orientated

  • Good problem solving skills – solution orientated – hands on
