· Largest city near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Chattanooga, TN.

The role you’ll contribute:

Assists in preparing the operating rooms for surgery, transports patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the RN in charge of the team.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIE

· Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors

· Observes safety precautions at all times; uses protective wear, gloves, and goggles; uses proper body mechanics

· Follows standard precautions at all times

· Always informs desk/nurse manager when leaving the department

· Ensures each surgical suite has a linen hamper and regular and hazardous waste bags

· Disposes of all linens, regular waste, hazardous waste and sharps containers in the appropriate waste diposal area

· Moves OR furniture and equipment as needed to clean. Cleans all equipment before putting back into storage

· Follows all infection control practices including: hand washing, standard precautions and protective attire

· Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.

· Uses and maintains cleaning and transportation equipment correctly and safely.

· Reports safety hazards to the OR manager

· Ensures all warmers are stocked with blankets and fluids; monitors the warming cabinets throughout the shift

· Monitors and stocks hat, masks, bunny suits, booties, and linen

· Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Graduate of high school or GED

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· BLS
