Actalent Chemist in Rockville, Maryland
Description:
Performs, designs, and synthesizes small molecule drug candidates. Carries out retrosynthetic analyses, forward syntheses, and troubleshooting reaction.
Characterizes compounds using analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, LCMS, IR, and NMR.
Propose and explores alternative synthetic routes and synthetic strategies.
Participates on functional and/or cross functional teams.
Demonstrates creativity, inventiveness, and innovation to advance drug discovery programs.
Complies with all applicable policies regarding health, safety, and environmental policies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
PhD in synthetic chemistry or relevant scientific discipline and at least 2 years of medicinal chemistry experience in the life sciences industry or equivalent. Carbohydrate chemistry experience is a plus.
Experience in Modern synthetic techniques
