Machine operation:

  • Loading and unloading materials onto the waterjet machine.
  • Programming cutting paths using CNC software based on work orders or blueprints.
  • Adjusting cutting parameters like pressure, speed, and abrasive flow to optimize results.
  • Monitoring machine performance and making necessary adjustments during operation.
  • Starting and stopping the machine as needed.

Quality control:

  • Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Identifying and addressing any quality issues during the cutting process
  • Performing test cuts to verify machine settings before full production runs

Maintenance and troubleshooting:

  • Performing routine cleaning and lubrication of the waterjet machine
  • Inspecting cutting heads, nozzles, and abrasive delivery systems for wear and tear
  • Identifying and reporting any machine malfunctions to the supervisor
  • Troubleshooting minor issues related to cutting process or tooling

Safety procedures:

  • Adhering to all safety guidelines related to operating a high-pressure waterjet machine
  • Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with CNC programming and operation
  • Knowledge of different materials and their cutting properties
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Basic computer skills
