Description Experienced Accountants who have an aptitude for adaptability are perfect for this Senior Accountant position. This immediate Senior Accountant opening is looking to be filled as soon as possible! This long-term contract / contract / contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Rochester, New York area.
Your responsibilities in this role
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Complete other projects as required
Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Realize compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
Create analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Arrange monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing Requirements - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Experience with bank reconciliations
General familiarity with payroll
Strong familiarity with cost accounting, manufacturing experience required
Expertise in Balance Sheets
General familiarity with Form 1099
Deep understanding of cash flow statements
Adeptness in Sales Tax
Demonstrated knowledge of Vertex Sales & Use Tax
Good understanding of Journal Entry Preparation
Compliance reporting experience highly preferred
Fixed Asset Accounting experience highly desired
Practical knowledge of Microsoft
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
