SUMMARY

As a Senior Respiratory Therapist, your strong knowledge, evaluations and recommendations are key to the successful treatment and comfort of patients. You are viewed by patients, families and staff as a necessary, helpful, and educational resource.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Wilson Center and Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Pulmonary

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; Day

ATTRIBUTES

  • Three (3) or more years of previous full time critical care experience in respiratory care required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluation & Development. Review and evaluate all pertinent and existing data in patient record; modify therapeutic techniques based on patient response; initiate and update respiratory care plan for all patients per department policy and procedure
  • Leadership. Advise providers on appropriate respiratory care procedures and techniques for individual patient care; recommend, conduct and document prescribed therapeutic procedures; coach, mentor and train new staff
  • Equipment Management. Select, assemble and check respiratory care equipment for proper function, operation and cleanliness
EDUCATION:
  • AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
PAY RANGE: $32.86 - $38.43

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
