University of Rochester Rehabilitation Mobility Tech in Rochester, New York

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Rehabilitation Mobility specialist will support patient mobility on the acute care units in sessions under indirect supervision of the therapy teams. The Rehab Mobility Specialist will use safe patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective equipment in accordance with guidelines and vendor specifications.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Mobility: Supports patient participation mobility program under indirect supervision per plan of care established by therapy team (PT/OT/PTA/OTA. Including (but not limited to): walking patients, transferring patients, positioning patients, and assisting patients with independent completion of mobility tasks.

  2. Communicates with the therapy team (PT/OT/PTA/OTA) changes in patient status and seeks assistance when necessary to provide safe, reliable care

  3. Prioritizes care for the patients they are assigned to see on a given day.

  4. Completes documentation as required for reporting patient function and participation

  5. Yearly training and competencies in safe patient handling, Range of Motion, transfer training, positioning, gait training, self-care training, and strength training.

Other Duties as Assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED preferred; Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field OR completion of one or more semesters at accredited PT, OT, SLP Program or other health field preferred. No experience required; One year of patient care experience preferred. Proficient in basic word processing and computer data entry required. Safe Patient Handling within 12 months of hire preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 17.47 - $ 23.58 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
