Maser Consulting P.A Party Chief in Rochester, New York

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is actively looking for a Party Chief to work out of our Rochester, NY office! This candidate will conduct field surveys independently or with the assistance of other field crew staff. Responsible for performing and/or overseeing all field survey activities on assigned projects of advanced complexity, using standard equipment, work, and safety methods. Perform site safety leader functions on site.


Our services include 3D hi-definition laser and terrestrial scanning, mobile LiDAR, UAS Aerial mapping, Amberg trolley rail and tunnel measurement, Building Information Modeling (BIM), GPS/GIS and topographic mapping, subsurface utility engineering and non-destructive testing, hydrographic, wetlands and forensic surveying.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform advanced field surveys within the defined project scope and budget, using the most efficient methods, and in accordance with applicable standards of practice.
  • Supervise and direct other survey crew members.
  • Interact with project site supervisors and client field representatives.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed field notes and reports of daily activity in a timely manner.
  • Perform in-field calculations for construction stakeout and various land surveys with minimal assistance from office support team.
  • Prepare cut sheets for construction assignments as needed.
  • Review and determine the validity of data collection.
  • Demonstrate initiative in analyzing and developing solutions to issues encountered on projects.
  • Maintain, transport, and operate the instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing the job site for a survey.
  • Adhere to corporate and client Health and Safety program(s) and all applicable SOPs.
  • Prepare or receive from the PM, the Health, and Safety Checklists.
  • Review and instruct other crew personnel on all safety hazards, PPE, etc. associated with the work being performed.
  • Use and instruct others to properly use Total Stations, Data Collector, GNSS, and other specialized survey equipment to collect data.
  • Electronically transfer field data files, photos and associated forms to office team daily.
  • Mentor field survey staff to facilitate advancement.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • 2+ years as Crew Chief including accredited four-year survey degree program.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CST level III preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Drone License 107.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $30.00 to $41.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)

Requires a pre-employment drug screen and will require ongoing participation in the employer's random drug and alcohol testing program.
