Job Function:
Monroe Community College seeks an Office Clerk II who will be responsible for the independent performance of clerical tasks, requiring a high degree of independent judgment and decision-making. The use of technology is an integral part of the position, and the successful candidate must have excellent skills in using technology to solve problems. The Office Clerk II must have strong interpersonal skills and a sincere desire to assist students and their families, as well as college staff. The Office Clerk II reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions. This position requires evening and Saturday hours, as requested.

Primary Functions:
Customer Service Support
- Enter prospective student data into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and other forms of inbound communication, and respond to questions from prospective students (applicants), various college departments, and personnel to clarify information regarding Admissions files.
- Provide support to the front desk area and all office visitors, including prospective students, families, and other college personnel.
- Provide support for evening and weekend enrollment services.
- Clerical support for First Year Experience/Orientation.
Admissions Technology
- Processing of applications both online and in person.
- Provide application support and trouble-shooting.
- Data entry import and export.
- Transfer credit processing.
- Process outbound communication to multiple contact types, electronically and paper-based.
- Provide support for recruitment and enrollment events.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and appropriate staff.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Must currently hold the Monroe County civil service title of Office Clerk II or be reachable on the current eligible list for this title or meet the below minimum requirements for a provisional or temporary appointment, if offered;
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- (A) Graduation with an Associate's degree or successful completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours from a college or university; OR,
- (B) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR,
- (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- Must be a Monroe County Resident.
Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: If you are appointed, you will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Additional Information:
Job Type: Support Staff, Full-time
Hours: 8:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m, Must be available to work evenings on Mondays-Thursdays and Saturdays, as requested.
Salary: $39,797.72 per year. Eligible for increment increase at 6 months of service.

The starting salary for all new hires is typically at the entry-level figure, as determined by the step placement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Progression through the range occurs over time based on established criteria such as length of service and performance. This range is provided to give applicants an understanding of the potential earnings over the course of a career in this role.
