Job Description:
Highland Hospital a 261 bed community teaching hospital and affiliate of the University Of Rochester Medical Center is recruiting for Gero-Psych Patient Safety Specialists to join our team. Qualified candidates must be able to work either full or part time, 20-40 hours per week, with day, evening, night rotation including every other weekend plus 50% of the holidays.
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Gero-Psych Patient Safety Specialist is responsible for delivering quality patient care through maintaining a therapeutic milieu and implementing diversionary activities designed to meet the patient’s biopsychosocial needs.
PAY RANGE: $18.89 - $23.98
*The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:
1. Education – BS in Human Services preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Minimum AAS degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Gerontology or equivalent and is competent in the behaviors identified in the Gero-Psych Patient Safety Specialist (GPS) job description.
2. Experience – Must have 2-3 years of experience.
3. License/Certification Required: Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers required).
