University of Rochester Cost Analyst in Rochester, New York

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Performs independent review and analysis of financial data in support of the various finance functions. Exercises knowledge in the application of accounting principles and technical expertise in financial analysis. Analyze major financial statement lines for reasonableness and variances to prior year activity.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares accounting records and financial statements for audit.

  2. Analyzes and interprets data, statistics and financial information, and identifies significant differences in relationships among sources of information.

  3. Conducts specialized financial analysis and research on subjects such as rate of return, working capital, financial and expense performance comparison and cash administration.

  4. Prepares reports, providing information related to analyses performed.

  5. As assigned, assumes responsibility for special projects involving research and planning.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. 2 years of related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, self-starter, ability to work independently and ability to work collaboratively with all levels within the University required.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 23.80 - $ 33.32 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
