JOB SUMMARY: This position provides clinical, administrative, and reflective individual and group supervision to therapists and case manager staff in the Family Trauma Intervention Program (FTIP), as well as program leadership and oversight. The role serves as an administrative liaison to partners and funders of the program, manages and assigns referrals, and ensures quality clinical and case management services for children and families. This position provides ongoing training and coaching to the team related to clinical assessment, treatment planning, interventions, clinical documentation, commitment to best practice, professional development and leadership. The supervisor will serve as a representative of the program and the agency through community collaboratives and professional committees. The position requires a strong commitment to trauma informed and relationship-based practices, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and professional reflective capacity
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Family Trauma Intervention Program is a home-based, clinical program that serves children and families impacted by significant trauma including child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and grief-related issues such as family member fatalities and community violence. Intensive, ongoing individual and/or family therapy is provided to children of all ages and their caregivers. Additionally, families with case management needs are linked with appropriate community resources to ensure that their concrete needs are being met. The program holds specific expertise related to complex trauma, grief, and loss, parent-child relationships distress, early childhood sexual abuse, infant and early childhood mental health, and the impact of trauma across the lifespan.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or a related field and a minimum of seven years of experience working with trauma, children and families Experience providing strong reflective, administrative, and clinical supervision skills and comfort ensuring accountability to best practices through program oversight and high-level attention. Licensed upon hire. In some circumstances (e.g., licensure changes due to relocation to NYS) we may consider candidates who become licensed within six months of hire. An expertise in therapeutic work with children and families. Solid understanding of generational trauma, trauma, loss, poverty and adversity, attachment theory, child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and caregiver-child relationships. Experience with Child-Parent Psychotherapy, play therapy, family therapy, and/or similar therapeutic approaches to working with children and families impacted by trauma, loss, and relationship distress. Strong ability to communicate and collaborate well with other professionals with diverse identities, social locations, and experiences.
