Position Title: Assembly Group Leader

Reports To: Production Control Manager

FLSA Status: Non -Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Production Control Manager, the Assembly Group Leader is responsible for

overseeing product assembly, maintaining the assembly production schedule and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assembly – 50%

Put together components of various sizes

Talent Management – 25%

Oversee and manage Assemblers; ensures that the Assembly or product is in keeping with the production

schedule and meeting or exceeding quality standards; ensures that all employees wear the proper safety

equipment

Packaging – 10%

Uses various methods to identify product per customer requirements

Visual Inspection – 10%

Touch-up paint as needed

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: 5%

Primary trainer for new assembly hires

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• With limited supervision and quality work ethic, functions as a member of a customer-driven quality

team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been

achieved.

• Superior communication skills and ability to develop teamwork among staff.

• Must be diplomatic and possess good human interaction skills.

• Holds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around

project outcomes.

• Ability to multitask using the appropriate level of priority setting.

• Ability to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines and the ability to be flexible.

• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of assembly.

• Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.

• Ability to keep record of time spent and material used.

• Thorough operational knowledge to read, interpret drawings and blueprints and execute the process.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED

• Vocational or Trade School education

Minimum 5 years experience

AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:

People: This position has authority over the Assemblers.

Operations: The person in this position is responsible for all product assembly.

Budget: This position has no budgetary responsibilities.
