Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Rochester, New York

Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team in Rochester, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, including but not limited to preparing trial balances, maintaining the general ledger chart of accounts, preparing and adjusting journal entries, and performing account analysis and reconciliation. This role offers an opportunity to transition into a contract-to-hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Month-end close accounting procedures

• Preparing trial balances and maintaining the general ledger chart of accounts

• Reviewing general ledger accounts and preparing and adjusting journal entries

• Performing account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts

• Posting monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals

• Preparing financial statements

• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules

• Assisting with budget preparation and preparing monthly budget variance analysis

• Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas

• Providing audit support

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).

• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

• Demonstrated skills in Billing and Invoice Processing.

• Proficient in Data Entry tasks.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of Oracle software.

• Experience with QuickBooks software.

• Familiarity with SAP software.

• Proficiency with SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) Software.

• Previous work experience as an Accounting Clerk.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
