Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Paid Time Off Vision Insurance Basic Life Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Employer Paid Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability Adoption Assistance Plan Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health education, community education, or related field Minimum three years' experience working in a healthcare or community health environment Knowledge of learning processes and application to health education curriculum Project management skills and ability to prioritize assignments to meet organizational and department objectives Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, and decision-making to achieve goals Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with OMC employees and community partners; must be equally effective working independently or on a team Experience with marketing account management and program development in a healthcare and business environment Experience with promotion within a healthcare and business environment Presentation and team facilitation experienced required Knowledge of patient education techniques and behavior change theories Wellness coaching and motivational interviewing skills desired; wellness coach certification ideal Computer skills to include but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn computer apps Wellness-minded and role model for healthy living Job Responsibilities: Develops goals, makes recommendations, and implements plans for health promotion efforts that are consistent with the strategic initiatives and mission of OMC. Responsible for leading the strategic planning of OMComplete Wellness. Responsible for planning, coordination, and implementation of OMC wellness initiatives and activities throughout the year including but not limited to the annual employee wellness/benefits fair. Position will work with OMC's community outreach coordinator and patient education program coordinator. Works in collaboration with employee health nurse and occupational health to determine employee and corporate needs related to wellness. Assists in the development and implementation of the marketing/communication plan for OMC wellness program. Responsible for e-mail health and wellness newsletter for OMC staff and patients. Provides one-on-one wellness counseling and health education for employees as appropriate; directing individuals to appropriate programs and services such as screenings, coaching, fitness, weight loss, active transportation, etc.. Responsible for building partnerships in the community to strengthen the OMC Wellness program. Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives related to wellness. Participates as a member of the Olmsted County Wellness Works Steering Committee. Participates in grant writing for funding of programs as necessary. Represents OMC during community events and speaking engagements. Maintains high standards of professionalism in community with clinicians and other staff. Must be willing to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Other duties as assigned.
