Responsibilities

The Director of Business Intelligence & Systems is responsible for leading MCP’s data, reporting, and systems administration functions. This role requires a highly analytical and technical leader with expertise in Power BI, data and analytics, and reporting. The ideal candidate will work closely with department stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable insights and reports. Additionally, this position oversees a team responsible for administering key business systems, including CRM, Smartsheets, Jira, and other platforms, ensuring optimal system performance and data integrity.

The position will be responsible for the following essential functions:

  • Business Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reporting solutions.

  • Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and translate requirements into effective data visualizations.

  • Establish best practices for governance, reporting, and visualization.

  • Data & Analytics Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a data strategy that supports business objectives.

  • Oversee data integration, transformation, and warehousing initiatives to ensure seamless reporting.

  • Identify trends and insights from data to support decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Drive automation of data workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.

  • Systems Administration & Oversight:

  • Lead the team responsible for managing and maintaining CRM, Smartsheets, Jira, and other critical business systems.

  • Ensure system configurations, workflows, and integrations align with business needs.

  • Work with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

  • Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, system administrators, and reporting specialists.

  • Foster a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting best practices in data and reporting.

  • Collaborate with MCP teams and other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives.

  • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and system functionality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, must have 11+ years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles.

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.

  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report development.

  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms, Smartsheets, Jira, and other enterprise business systems.

  • Proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

  • Experience with API integrations and automation of data workflows is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders.

Master’s degree preferred.
