**Role Description:
The Serviceability Engineer is responsible for influencing early product designs to meet service requirements in their assigned commodity. They are responsible to assess future product designs, identify and address non-compliance via design changes, and transfer applicable product knowledge to downstream stakeholders including technical documentation authors, technical training, contact center personnel. This resource may be assigned responsibility for one or multiple commodities including Electrical, Chassis, Interior, Body/Collision, and Powertrain. Additionally, the Serviceability Engineer may be assigned as Vehicle Lead for one or more vehicles. As Vehicle Lead, he or she must facilitate assessment and reporting efforts with Serviceability colleagues based on timing of major vehicle milestones.
Basic Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
- 3+ years of automotive technical experience in automotive repair or other hands-on experience
- Demonstrated technical understanding of field repair techniques & industry practices
- Understands process development, program management, and problem solving techniques
- Strong problem solving, planning and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel, or equivalent applications
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be trustworthy and conduct themselves professionally
- Must be willing to travel domestically (minimal travel expected)
*Preferred Qualifications: *
- Bachelor Degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
Strong understanding of dealership service operations & the technician workflow for vehicle repairs
Ability to navigate CAD and interface with 3D models of vehicles and parts
Experience interfacing with Engineering & Manufacturing personnel
Strong understanding of the automotive diagnostic process, wiring diagrams, and remove / install procedures
ASE and/or I-CAR Certifications
Comfortable presenting to all levels of management
Exceptional communication, presentation and team building skills
Experienced with manufacturing facilities or processes
Multi-lingual (written & verba
