Job Summary
Responsible for the safe; reliable; and cost-effective coordination, dispatching, and restoration of customers, assigned distribution facilities, and the overall moment-to-moment operation of a portion of the AEP distribution system while ensuring dispatching personnel are properly trained to complete their mission.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensure safe distribution dispatching practices in accordance with Company standards and proper training of dispatching personnel.
Manage the distribution dispatching group in support of operating company and distribution operations goals.
Manage the proper coordination of distribution customer outages and the necessary Outage Management Systems to optimize restoration efforts.
Manage the proper moment-to-moment operation of the assigned portion of the AEP distribution system and ensure proper monitoring practices and assist regional transmission organizations (RTOs) and independent system operators (ISOs) in maintaining system security.
Manage the safe and reliable restoration of customers and distribution facilities. Ensure proper implementation of normal and emergency procedures.
Ensure distribution dispatching personnel are properly trained in all areas of electric system operations.
Interface with operating company personnel as well as other organizations such as customer solutions centers, transmission services, and transmission operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements are listed below: Bachelor's degree, preferably in electrical engineering.
Work Experience requirement listed below: Eight years' experience in substation, maintenance, dispatching, engineering, and/or operation of the transmission and distribution system. Five years' supervisory/management experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Thorough knowledge of distribution systems required. Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
Must be able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard.
Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings.

$132,562.00-172,331.00 USD
