Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented CAD Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to produce high-quality CAD drawings and technical designs for various projects. This role requires proficiency in CAD software, a strong understanding of design principles, and a commitment to delivering accurate and high-standard work. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, architects, and project teams to support the design and execution of projects while ensuring all technical documentation is accurate and well-organized.

What You’ll Be Doing:

CAD Drawing and Design :

  • Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on project specifications and requirements.

  • Develop detailed technical drawings for products, machinery, buildings, or infrastructure projects.

  • Ensure designs are accurate, complete, and compliant with company standards, codes, and regulations.

Collaboration and Coordination :

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and design specifications.

  • Provide technical support and input during design and construction phases.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and resolve any discrepancies.

Quality Control and Accuracy :

  • Review and verify CAD files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with the overall project goals.

  • Conduct checks and revisions to ensure drawings meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Implement revisions and updates to designs based on feedback and changes from team members or clients.

Technical Documentation :

  • Maintain organized records of CAD files, drawings, and revisions for project documentation.

  • Prepare technical documentation for design review meetings, client presentations, and reports.

  • Ensure all CAD-related files are up-to-date and archived properly for future reference.

CAD Software Management :

  • Utilize industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) to produce designs.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD tools and techniques to improve efficiency and design quality.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to CAD systems or software.

Project Support and Updates :

  • Provide regular updates to project managers regarding the status of CAD tasks and project progress.

  • Support the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and construction schedules with accurate CAD data.

Continuous Improvement :

  • Recommend improvements to CAD processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and design output.

  • Participate in team training sessions to stay current with new CAD software versions and design techniques.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Education : Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working with CAD software in an engineering, architecture, or design environment.

  • Hands-on experience creating and modifying technical drawings and designs using CAD software.

  • Skills & Knowledge :

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools.

  • Strong understanding of design principles, technical drawing standards, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to create both 2D and 3D models, designs, and layouts.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software.

  • Familiarity with building codes and construction standards.

  • Certification or formal training in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional).

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering design concepts (depending on specialization).

  • Experience working on large-scale projects or in a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members.
