Wind River Family & Community Health Care Safety/OSHA Officer (Healthcare) in Riverton, Wyoming
Develops, implements, and monitors the patient and employee safety program.
Evaluates and improves organizational patient and employee safety based on internal needs and external requirements and standards.
Directs the development of a comprehensive Patient and Employee Safety Plan and updates the plan as needed.
Works with administrative/management staff to develop and implement systems and procedures for collection of information.
Develops systems for and coordinates the on-going collection and response to various sources of information that impact the organization, such as published hazard notices or recall reports.
Prepares findings, recommendations, actions taken, and disseminates results of performance improvement activities.
Documents situations and trends and plans for remediation of situations that present risk, including such matters at the disposal and tracking of hazardous waste.
Works with clinical and administrative staff to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
Prepares and submits reports concerning findings, recommendations, actions, and monitoring activities to the Compliance Officer on a bi-weekly basis or as requested by the Compliance and Risk Management committees.Assists Risk Management in conducting physical surveys of facilities and compliance with OSHA recommendations.
Actively participates in safety management and planning.
Ensures the development of surveillance systems to identify and mitigate potential patient/employee harm.
Works with administrative/clinical supervisors to ensure that the objectives, scope, performance, and effectiveness of management plans are evaluated at least annually based on the analysis of incident reports and other information.
Coordinates organizational response to regulatory standards related to patient/employee safety.
Assists in defining performance indicators for evaluation of the safety program and in reporting performance indicators of all areas to the Compliance and Risk Management committees.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Compliance Officer.
