Position Information

The purpose of the Assistant Director of Nonresident Recruitment and Evaluation is to oversee all aspects of out-of-sate recruitment and application evaluation for both freshman and transfer populations with the UCR Undergraduate Admissions Office. In concert with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the incumbent is responsible for annually developing a strategic plan in line with the campus and Enrollment Services strategic plans to meet nonresident enrollment objectives. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, the incumbent supervises full-time Admission Specialists who collectively are responsible for the recruitment of freshman and transfer applicants to UCR. This position will require out-of-state travel to recruit prospective and admitted students by providing oversight at various programs and events as well as participation in consortium travel and conferences.

Please Note: A presentation will be required as a part of this interview process.

The budgeted hourly/salary range for this position is $71,100 - $99,900.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.  Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Must successfully complete a background check through the University's background check agency prior to your start date, and a fingerprint check through the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to manage projects.

Skills in social perceptiveness, awareness of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.

Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software.

Knowledge of human resources management policies with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to understand and interpret complex documents and data specifications.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment.
