Cleveland -Cliffs has an immediate opening for an Associate Quality Engineer. As a n associate quality engineer at Cleveland-Cliffs , you will be part of a global team making steel that goes into products that are visible all around you. A successful candidate will provide leadership in ensuring that work is performed safely to efficiently produce and deliver quality steel products to our customers.
Summary of Responsibilities :
Ensure compliance with safety , quality, and environmental standards.
Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment and p articipate in projects with multidisciplinary teams to support continuous improvement and reduction of waste.
Provide metallurgical and technical support for product and process improvement through data analysis and problem solving .
Monitor product and process variability and performance to standards with a focus on improving practices and product performance .
Deliver technical solutions to internal and external customers by understanding manufacturing and product capability.
Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, planning, and other technical resources to drive results.
Communicate with upstream and downstream operations to improve practices and performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Metallurgy , Material Science or related field
Must be able to work in a hot, dusty environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
P referred Qualifications :
Prior internship/co-op in a steel or related industry
