Job Description
Our client is currently seeking Flux-core welders to fabricate heavy-duty equipment from start to finish. This is a comprehensive fabricating position that requires welding mild steel ranging from 1/4" to 3" thick. Candidates will weld and fabricate to produce excavators used in construction settings. The role involves welding industrial buckets, similar to those used on backhoes from Caterpillar, and performing multiple passes on welds. This is not a production welding setting as the welding is done from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Fabricate heavy-duty equipment from start to finish.
Weld mild steel ranging from 1/4" to 3" thick.
Produce and weld industrial buckets used on excavators.
Perform multiple passes on welds.
Read and interpret blueprints for fabrication projects.
Ensure all welding and fabrication meets structural requirements.
Essential Skills
1+ years of heavy gauge Flux-Core welding experience.
.030 & .045 wire welding experience preferred.
Proficiency in Flux-Core, structural, FCAW, Stick welding, and Mig welding.
Ability to read blueprints and fabricate accordingly.
Ability to lift 50lbs consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must have own tools and welding helmet.
Steel-toed boots are required.

Work Environment
Our client offers a well-equipped work environment with over 20 workstations, including a separate building for mechanical assembly and painting. The facility features overhead cranes for lifting heavy materials and maintains a strict safety culture. This is not a production welding shop; instead, the focus is on creating custom buckets for large industrial applications, as well as manufacturing railroad cars and structural beams. The entire process takes place at specific stations, ensuring a thorough and detailed fabrication process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
