What does the job involve?

Offshore - Brazil

Responsible for execution of drilling and well operations across the Equinor organisation. Ensure drilling and well operations are executed in a safe and efficient way according work processes (WR), work requirements (WR) and technical requirements (TR). This also include all support and expert functions related to drilling and well operations.

You are utilizing your knowledge to independently solve complex tasks with a short-term operational or tactical impact. You set targets and execute work for your own team which you lead; or you define and provide services within a specific area.​ You independently communicate within the immediate team, across different areas, and towards key stakeholders, including partners or external parties. You regularly navigate conflicting agendas. You adhere to established procedures, identify and resolve challenges. You oversee execution of improvement agendas, embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working that are complex and actively communicate to others on how to do the same.​ You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values. What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Be part of the offshore team supporting both Peregrino and Deepwater activities in Brazil.

  • Be responsible for the daily planning, co-ordination, carrying out and reporting of the operations at the drilling unit throughout the shift period.

  • Ensure operations are conducted according to detailed operational procedures and Equinor safety standards.

  • Have responsibility for the operations on the drilling unit being planned and implemented so that health, the outer environment, the working environment, safety and quality are taken care of in accordance with governing documentation, goals and strategies, and the requirements of the authorities.

  • Oversee planned activities, procedures and maintenance including conducting safety inspections, taking care of Equinor's responsibility for inspecting the drilling unit's maintenance system, and through inspections checking that the contractors take care of their responsibilities.

  • Ensure quality and risk management for personnel, equipment, and services.

  • Utilize the expertise that the drilling contractor and service companies can provide, and through daily meetings ensure that all the involved parties are coordinated regarding the operations.

  • Use process and network to improve work quality and share experiences. Propose improvements and report non-conformities.

  • Be a part of the emergency organization at the rig site in accordance with the governing documentation. The drilling supervisor is Equinor's representative and is therefore responsible for Equinor's emergency procedures being complied with.

  • A relevant college/university Bachelor’s Engineering degree, however relevant experience may compensate for formal education (Valid CREA).

  • A minimum of seven 7 years of relevant experience in drilling and well related work, at least 3 three of which must have been in a supervisory or leadership position at the rig site, with a minimum 1 year of relevant experience with floaters (semi-subs and/or drill ships).

  • An IWCF-approved well control certificate for drilling operations (level 4) is an advantage.

  • Experience within completions and work over operations, deep water, MPD, HPHT and P&A operations is an advantage.

  • Fluent Portuguese and English skills, both written and verbal.

  • Good knowledge of IT and reporting tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Team player, good managerial skills, and the ability to plan, communicate and motivate employees.
