This team delivers secure, reliable, and affordable E2E IT operations to the Upstream, Integrated Gas, New Energies and Projects & Technology business. As IT professionals with a business lens our focus is to unlock value and accelerate Shell’s journey in energy transition. With the team having been forged from two separate teams as part of Reshape, One Team mindset will be a key part our culture.
What’s the role?
The IT Ops Lead – SSW Analytics is the domain expert, enabling end-to-end operational improvements through the provision of analytics-based insights to operational teams and stakeholders.
More specifically, your key accountabilities include:
Transform the use of data by developing advanced predictive modelling and analytics techniques, thus promoting data driven decisions in service and product improvements.
Works closely with Operational leads and product owners to actively propose, develop and support improvements based on high quality, data driven decisions.
Deliver User Experience insights to service and product teams that support business outcomes.
Support budget, cost and recovery cycle. Compile and consolidate data, build required dashboards, deliver financial insights (budget vs spend, LE, forecasts, trend analysis etc).
Responsible for partnering with stakeholders in delivering to respective Value Themes.
Responsible for leading Analytics team towards operational excellence and IT Operations of the Future.
Participate and replicate solutions from (Shell) Analytics networks on best practices, tools, processes, and standards
What we need from you
Alongside your bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, you will have:
Experience with statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS)
Experience with SAP technologies (SAP ECC/ERP, SAP BW, SAP HANA etc.)
Experience with SQL-based technologies (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PRESTO)
Experience with data blending technology (e.g., Alteryx)
Experience with Microsoft or AWS data stack e.g., Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Hadoop (preferably with Spark), Cosmos DB, HDInsight/HBase, MongoDB, Redis, Azure
Certified in Agile Product Owner/SCRUM master and/or other Agile techniques
Team leadership experience
Solid understanding of analytics technologies and methodologies
Experience in handling a wide variety of data, including IT operational and/or financial
A curious mind that enjoys seeking trends and patterns and relating this to a bigger picture
Creative and strategic in mapping insights to the real-world improvement opportunities
Strong communication and stakeholder mgt skills, especially around articulating complex problems
Product Management skills and behaviors
