The Boeing Company Experienced Project Engineer in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Vertical Lift Division is seeking an Experienced Project Engineer (Level 3) to support the Future Long Range Assault Aircraft program in Ridley Park, PA.  Our team is focused on designing the future of vertical lift with the Future Long Range Assault Aircraft for the US Army.   Our team provides a wide range of support on programs across the enterprise, primary the Army’s AH-6, AH-64, CH-47, MH-47, the Air Force’s CV-22, MH-139, and Marines/Navy’s MV-22, CMV-22.  This position offers a unique opportunity to make a contribution in the design and development of the future of Army aviation.  Along with these programs the Ridley Park site supports a large portfolio of products including other Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others.

Position Overview:

The Experienced Project Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity development projects.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the overall aircraft and partner with sub-system design teams in a collaborative team environment.  This position will support System Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) and will work closely with other design IPT across the program.  As an Experienced Project Engineer, you will collaborate with teammates throughout the organization to pave the way in creating a well-integrated and optimized design.

Primary Responsibilities:

Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

Participates in trade studies.

Resolves cross-functional technical issues

Works under general direction.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

Bachelor's degree in Engineering,

Mechanical, Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Structural, and Civil Engineering

from an ABET accredited program.

3 years or more of


in project engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

Experience mentoring other engineers.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
