Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong expertise in payroll processes, reconciliations, and general ledger management. Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Perform account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity and resolve discrepancies.

• Oversee general ledger activities, including preparation and maintenance of entries.

• Create and post journal entries while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting standards.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and generate reports.

• Work with SAP or UKG systems to manage accounting processes efficiently.

• Identify and propose process improvement opportunities to enhance workflow and accuracy.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting operations and reporting.

• Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks.

• Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting materials.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and general ledger management.

• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and related compliance requirements.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Hands-on experience with SAP or UKG systems.

• Ability to effectively create and manage journal entries.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify areas for process improvement.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate across teams.
