We’re Hiring: Accounting Clerk (Hybrid) – Richmond, VA
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
Pay Rate: $25.71/hr.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support payroll tax operations for a leading financial institution. This role focuses on ensuring payroll tax compliance and accuracy through data entry, reconciliation, and associate support.
About the Role:
The Accounting Clerk will handle federal and state tax form entries, payroll/tax adjustments, and reconciliations. They will also assist with resolving payroll system errors and provide guidance on tax-related inquiries based on associates' home and work locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll tax tasks including tax form entry, adjustments, and reconciliations
Review payroll system outputs and correct errors
Support HR partners in resolving payroll discrepancies
Respond to associate inquiries regarding tax withholdings and location-based impacts
Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Assist with year-end W2 preparation and reporting
Provide phone support requiring in-depth payroll process knowledge
Maintain consistent attendance and flexibility for overtime as needed
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with payroll and benefits programs
Proficiency in Google Suite
Strong math and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail
Clear verbal and written communication (internal team focus)

Pay Details: $25.71 per hour
