Aerotek Fleet Mechanic (Up To 35/hr) in Richmond, Virginia

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to join our team. You will work with a high degree of independence while performing preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs using leading-edge technology and programs. This role involves working on diverse fleet equipment, including automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), vans, and forklifts. You will diagnose vehicle failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary, maintain documentation and records, and answer service calls. You will be part of a team that maintains one of the largest fleets in North America while adhering to DOT Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs with a high degree of independence.

  • Utilize leading-edge technology and programs, including PM using voice application, Noregon diagnostics, Mitchell 1, Uptake predictive analytics, TAAS, and more.

  • Work on diverse fleet equipment, including automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), vans, and forklifts.

  • Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary.

  • Maintain documentation and records such as vehicle records and pre-trip checklists.

  • Answer service calls.

  • Adhere to DOT Regulations.

  • Experience with hydraulic and air brake systems

  • Experience repairing forklifts

  • Experience working with computers for diagnostics and maintenance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have your own basic hand tools

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Valid CDL or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment (training provided)

  • Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test (if applicable)

  • Pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)

  • Experience with repairing heavy-duty equipment

  • Experience with repairing light trucks

  • Experience with manufacturing standards and staying up-to-date with the latest technology

  • Experience driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL

Work Environment

You will work in a shop with 3 bays and a newer fleet. The maintenance team is small, fostering close collaboration. The position offers 2nd shift hours from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM and 3rd shift hours from 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
