This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Environmental Field Technician for our Richmond office. Be involved in projects with our Earth and Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
The successful candidate will conduct routine monitoring events that follow standards and procedures for conducting field environmental investigations including geophysical surveying, groundwater sampling, and operation and maintenance of groundwater, soil vapor, and landfill gas remediation systems.
Assist with other field activities as needed including, but not limited to stormwater and wetland surveying, etc.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation.
Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
Perform all duties within established deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
0-2 years of relevant work experience.
Good interpersonal, documentation, and computer skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical devices.
Ability to record information in a legible and accurate manner. (Field Notes)
Professional oral and written communication skills.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Travel is required, up to 80%, depending on project-specific requirements.
Must be able to work up to 12-hours outdoors.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk up/down slopes
Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request
