UFM Lead Elevator Operator in RICHMOND, Utah

The Elevator Lead Operator is responsible for all facets of the elevator operations. The duties include, but are not limited to taking bin inventory, directing crew, assisting manager with project tasking, correcting/assuring paperwork, promoting safety protocol, weighing trucks, receiving trucks, binning in correct bin, loading midds, transferring the product to mill, and sanitation duties.

LEAD ELEVATOR OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring and verifying bin inventory levels.
  • Accountable for verifying product and truck identification.
  • Directing crew with daily work.
  • Verify daily paperwork such as inventory, transfer sheets, feed sheets, etc.
  • Promote workplace safety protocol.
  • Communicating and ensuring proper shift handoff
  • The lead elevator operator is responsible for communication between the Mill and the Elevator Departments.
  • This individual will need to be capable of performing all elevator duties (receiving, binning product, transferring, etc.).

LEAD ELEVATOR OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience in grain handling and computer skills would be considered an asset.
  • Training is provided on the job.
  • Safety training is required, and company provided in group settings, as well as individual computer-based training.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multitask, and able to read and write in English.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Available to work flexible hours; evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required.
  • Capable of troubleshooting
  • Must have the ability to drive an 18-wheel truck, if needed
  • Ability to properly communicate directions from management to crew.
  • Must be comfortable with heights up to 80 ft.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
  • Extreme climate or climate variation.
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and lows of 40 degrees.
  • Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
  • Climbing ladders.
