Summary:
The fiber optic technician will perform a variety of tasks to support fiber optic installations, such as cable management, troubleshooting, fusion splicing, and testing and is capable of reading and understanding communications designs and matrices.

Testing & Troubleshooting Fiber Optic Networks
Cable Routing and Management
Cable Termination
Power Meter Testing
Network Documentation
Visual Fault Locator
Splicing Fiber Optic Cables
Fiber Optic Cable Installation
OTDR Testing
Fusion Splicing
Knowledge of reading and understanding communication diagrams
Knowledge of OPGW cable splicing and enclosure build-outs
Problem solving, communication, analytical skills, attention to detail, physical stamina
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Valid Drivers License required.
6 months 1 year of related experience required.
Fiber Optics Training program preferred.
Strong understanding of fiber optics theory and applications required.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment required.
Anticipated base salary range: $28.00 - $35.00
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Per Diem of $100.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.
