You might be the full-time Assistant Accounting Manager Robert Half is looking for, if you're interested in becoming a critical part of an innovative company. You will assist with financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and tax audits. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team of 3 (AP/AP) with excellent communication skills. This position wears LOTS of hats, you will work on various duties and projects learning from the Controller. Located in the Richmond, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This is a full-time on-site role as an Assistant to the Controller, located in Richmond, CA. The Assistant to the Controller will perform a range of tasks to support the Controller and Accounting Department, including working with the AP, AR, PR department and supporting the Controller in preparing the weekly & monthly financial reports.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee daily accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Daily Cash Review (bank reconciliations)

· Place purchase orders for raw materials ordered from our licensees or for resin materials needed in house.

· Invoice ATS licensees for materials ordered. Provide SDS, CI, Proforma invoice.

· Participate in regular tax audits, Insurance audits, and payroll pension audits.

· Prepare weekly reports of AR, AP, Active Orders Report both domestic & foreign.

· Manage month-end and year-end closing.

· Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department. Review the AP, AR for accuracy.

· Respond to emails from various supplier, customers, licensees, clients, etc.

· Prepare financial reports, (Income statement / Balance sheets) preparations.

· Work with CPA on Year-end tax preparation.

· Oversee the daily entering of AP invoices, AR invoices, Freight AP & AR. Review month end closing and AR statement preparation.

· Oversee the preparation of weekly payroll in compliance with the union contract.

Requirements

Qualifications

· Proven work experience as an Accounting Supervisor

· Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas) Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) Traverse (manufacturing software)

· Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations

· Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.

· Attention to detail and accuracy!

· Team management skills/ attention to detail/ ability to prioritize.
