At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. As a Chemical Engineer with the CPCCo, you will be an important part of the engineering team responsible for ensuring our workforce is able to safely reduce risks on the Hanford Site and make a real difference to the environment and community. This posting is for multiple potential engineering groups within CPCCo. The specific group will be based on the alignment of your skillset with CPCCo needs. Under direct/limited supervision, as a Chemical Engineer (Early Career & Intermediate), your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: * Providing general Chemical Engineering services to CPCCo supported facilities. * Preparing engineering evaluations of chemical compatibility, calculations, and technical documentation required for chemicals of potential concern in facilities including those that are preparing for or undergoing the process of cold and dark, and demolition. * Writing reports, supporting the specification of equipment compliant with required standards and compatibility with chemical systems, generating and revising operating procedures. * Providing technical expertise and direction for operational and maintenance activities to comply with Hanford and facility requirements, as well as national engineering and industry standards and codes and other requirements. * Communicating routinely with operations, maintenance, work planning, radiation control, and nuclear safety personnel, both exempt as well as bargaining unit. * Working on a daily basis with management, support organizations, operations and maintenance to accomplish project goals and objectives by providing timely and sound technical direction. * Communicating with off-site manufacturers/vendors to obtain technical specifications and information. * Being knowledgeable of the safety basis for CPCCo facilities, as appropriate, to ensure technical work for assigned systems is compliant with safety basis documents. Basic Qualifications * Early Career Level Grade 14: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline. * Intermediate Level Grade 16: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 2 or more years of relevant experience. The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience. Desired Qualifications * Experience supporting nuclear/radiological facilities. * Experience with DOE Nuclear Safety requirements. * Experience as Design Authority/System Engineer for operating nuclear facility. * EIT
