What YOU Will Do:
You will support design and development teams to develop, assess, and verify system safety and human factors related requirements for mission-critical systems
You will identify, evaluate, and mitigate hazards and risks associated with mission critical systems
You will be responsible for Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), Safety Assessment Report (SAR), Hazardous Materials Reporting, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA), System Safety Assessment (SSA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
You will be responsible for Human Factors best practices for operator and maintainers, Human Factors Engineering Analyses, and Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Operator/Maintainer (HEDAD-O/M)
You will assist in our Reliability and Maintainability Predictions, Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Maintainability Demonstration
You will become familiar with MIL-STD-882 (DoD System Safety Standard Practice), SAE ARP 4761 (Civil Aviation Safety Assessment Guidelines / Methods), MIL-STD-1472 (DoD Design Criteria Human Engineering), MIL-HDBK-217F (Reliability Predictions for Electronic Equipment), MIL-HDBK-338B (Electronic Reliability Design Handbook, and/or MIL-HDBK-470A (Design and Develop Maintainable Products and Systems).
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and build trust with team members from many different backgrounds, including engineering management, engineering teams, program management, business development, support groups, and subcontractors
Qualifications YOU Must Have:
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, with knowledge of how to apply system safety techniques, human factors, and/or reliability & maintainability engineering principles
Qualifications We Prefer:
Knowledge of systems architectures and designs
Understanding of military aircraft-related missions, functional operation, performance specifications, and verification and validation (V&V) techniques
Familiarity with agile development and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
Familiarity with DOORS, Cameo, and/or Atlassian (ALM) tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
Good presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
