Position Title: Staff Apps Engineer: Battery Management

Location: Richardson, Texas

SUMMARY:

Fast-growing Power Management division focusing on Battery Management, Motor Control and Analog Power is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, and experienced Senior Apps Engineer to support, and drive our new battery management and mixed signal products strategy forward for industrial, consumer, and automotive markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support high performance battery management solutions

``` - Support BMS customers in implementing both hardware and firmware level solutions

``` - Develop EVKs, EVMs, reference designs

```{=html}

``` - Work with field applications engineers on customer support

```{=html}

``` - Aid test and characterization engineers to develop a thorough characterization and production test solution

```{=html}

``` - Generate datasheets, collaborate with applications engineers on user guides, application reports, white papers, and training material.

``` - Provide system level solutions to customers, application engineers and sales teams

```{=html}

``` - Work with firmware development teams on implementing and supporting new IP developments

``` - Mentor and train junior engineers

``` - Provide technical support to sales and marketing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MSEE degree in electrical or computer engineering and at least 10-15 years related work experience

``` - Past experience supporting large scale BMS customers with track record of success

```{=html}

``` - Experience working directly with customers in consumer, industrial, and automotive markets

```{=html}

``` - Direct experience working with power and garden tools customers a plus

```{=html}

``` - Experience in applications with multi-cell battery management systems and BLDC/PMSM motors for industrial, automotive, and consumer applications

``` - Experience with DC/DC power conversion using switching regulators for isolated and non-isolated topologies

```{=html}

``` - Control systems knowledge for battery management, power conversion. Knowledge of motor control, and wide band-gap applications (SiC and GaN) a plus

``` - Experience in developing successful reference designs and EVKs and EVMs

``` - PCB Design and layout (Altium), Mathematical and circuit simulation (Matlab, Simulink, SPICE)

``` - Bench work in prototyping and debugging

``` - Ability to manage multiple projects in different stages at the same time

```{=html}

``` - Attention to detail, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

```{=html}

``` - Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate complex technical concepts to different audiences with varying level of technical understanding

``` - Able to travel domestically and internationally to support customersand support product development and marketing efforts
