Nuestro segmento de comunicaciones ópticas acaba de evolucionar de ser un fabricante de fibra óptica y cable, hardware y equipos para convertirse en un proveedor integral de soluciones ópticas líder en la industria, abarcando la industria de comunicaciones más amplia. El grupo de productos de red empresarial consta principalmente de redes de comunicación por fibra óptica dirigidas a negocios, gobiernos y personas para uso propio.

Molding Engineer

Purpose of Position.

Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the operation, change and production program, managing resources based on the needs of the shift in the area and assisting in the planning of resources in operation

Responsibilities.

  • Monitor & record mold cavitation in every machine Startup on mold tag

  • Must have travel availability

  • Provide technical support to shift for trouble shooting and problem resolution. Ensure equipment and processes meet and sustain standard production outputs

  • Responsible for the timely completion projects

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and write in English

  • Maintain and improve upon existing manufacturing practices for the manufacture of finished goods

  • Provide ideas and corrective actions for ongoing manufacturing issues

  • Keep updated setup sheets at machines at all times and keep a new set up sheet with the right machine number and the latest date.

  • Maintain the Standard cycle time on all machines at all times

  • Maintain Safety guards in Molding Machines for optimum effectiveness.

  • Assist in shut downs and start-ups

  • Perform all additional duties as required by the Production Supervisor and Process Engineer

  • Follow all company policies and procedure

  • Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives

  • Set low pressure and mold protection to ensure minimal risk of mold damage and clean and protect the molds before removal from the press and prior to storage

  • Responsible for molding machine set up including auxiliary equipment as related to the molding process

  • Set up End of Arm tooling for robotic part removal

  • Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner

  • Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling

  • Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts.

  • Verify machines settings in conformance with the process book.

  • Coordinate and participate in the molding correction action team.

  • Maintain cleaning and organization of mold storage, machines and the mold locations.

  • Responsible for the timely completion projects.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

  1. Education.
  • B.S. degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred
  1. Work Experience
  • 2 years of experience on injection molding area or equivalent.

  • Knowledge and operation of a diversity of molding equipment (thermolators, dryers, Injection Molding machines, Cranes, Mold changeovers, etc.

  • Experience as a metrics administrator.

  • Knowledge about OEE metrics.

  • Management skills (leader of group)

  • Drying system Training (knowledge of how to properly dry plastic engineering resins )

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office)

  • Ability to interact with people from internal departments to make a group decision on process issues (Projects, PPMS, RCA, Etc.)

  • Statistical skills (desirable)

  • Knowledge about process validation. (OQ-PQ-IQ)

  • Ability to identify engineering drawings/specifications problems

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and write in English
