OVHcloud Network Operations Internship (Talent Up Fairfax) in Reston, Virginia
Job Summary
As a Network Operations Intern at OVHCloud US, you’ll work alongside engineers who ensure the reliability and automation of our data centers in Vint Hill, VA and Hillsboro, OR. This role is designed to give you hands-on exposure to Data center networking, DevOps practices, and cross-team collaboration. You’ll start with foundational training on OVHCloud’s products and spend most of your time supporting automation projects, troubleshooting networks, and learning from senior engineers.

Base Pay: $20/HR
Responsibilities and projects
Network Automation & Operations
Write Python/Perl scripts to automate tasks like ACL updates, device configuration backups, and monitoring integrations.
Assist in building Grafana dashboards using Prometheus data to visualize network performance.
Device Management & Troubleshooting
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus switches and Arista platforms (VLANs, BGP/OSPF, port security).
Support engineers during device upgrades, replacements, or connectivity issue resolution.
Incident Response & Security
Participate in incident management calls and contribute to post-mortem documentation.
Assist in addressing network vulnerabilities identified by security scans.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Attend meetings with the Product Management team to understand new network product launches.
Collaborate with Data Center teams, Automation Engineers, and other technical towers to align on workflows.
Minimum Requirements
Rising senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Networking, or IT.
Networking Basics: Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), and CLI-based device management.
Scripting Interest: Familiarity with Python, Bash, or similar (coursework or personal projects).
Collaborative Spirit: Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn in a team environment.
Ability to work remotely using company provided equipment in a secure environment with access to Wifi
Bonus Skills/ Experience
Basic experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
Exposure to version control systems (Git) or CI/CD concepts.
Familiarity with automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform).
Working Conditions
Typical office working conditions involve a seated desk, computer use, and a controlled temperature environment. Lighting is a combination of natural and artificial sources, while noise levels can vary based on the nature of work and occupancy.
